THE HISTORY
Relive the raw power of the '90s as the series channels the era's expansive music, attitude, and atmosphere. From the frenzied cityscape to the haunting echoes of the Ripper Crew, "The Art of Madness" brings the past to life.
The story begins on the day that Andrew Kokoraleis became the last man to receive the death penalty in Illinois. His sentence was due to his connection to “The Ripper Crew” - a group of four white men who mutilated and murdered at least eight women in the Chicagoland area during 1981-1982. Although the victims' names have been changed out of respect for them and their families, the names of the four “Ripper Crew” members have not. Two of these men still live behind bars. Thomas, Andrew’s older brother, is now a free man as of 2014. The show also feeds from the secret architectural history of Chicago: The hidden tunnels under Lake Shore Drive that extend over 2 miles under Lake Michigan.

THE WORLD
The world of "The Art of Madness" reaches deeper than the story's surface itself. With a wide network of characters and hundreds of "perks" hidden within the backbones of this plot, the show provides longevity for it's narrative.
The series feeds on facts about the veiled architectural history of Chicago: The hidden tunnels under the city. These secret passages end over 2 miles offshore, under Lake Michigan, leading into the water cribs visible from the city's shoreline. The plot's antagonist, Emory Bradford, cleverly uses these tunnels as a means of conducting his murderous affairs out of sight. The character's elaborate efforts result in a complex underground maze, where the narrative comes to a peak and an ultimate conclusion. Our creatives have been working with the world class maze designer; Adrian Fischer, MBE. who designed over seven hundred labyrinths worldwide and is behind the designs seen in the recently released film "Saltburn" - 2023.
